How To Backup Group Policy Objects (GPOs) Using PowerShell
Backing up Group Policies is one of the items that is often overlooked, and when they are backed up it’s often slow and difficult to get back. PowerShell provides a really easy way to backup all GPOs and with a little thought, it can be really powerful. In this topic, we look at how to backup GPO’s in the simplest way, by using Get-GPO and Backup-GPO. Then we start looking at what we can do to add value, like creating meaningful names for the backup directories and versioning the files so that we can roll back beyond the last backup.
