How To Create A Windows Server Image For Azure With Packer

HashiCorp’s Packer software is a new and robust utility for rapidly creating images for your virtual machines. In Azure environments, this becomes especially useful since rapid deployments are essential to cloud maintenance. In this Snip, Nick will demonstrate how to create an image with the Packer utility. He will then show how to create a VM in Azure by accessing the subscription through the Azure Account extension then using the New-AzureRmVm cmdlet. Once we hear back from Azure that the VM is created, we’ll test it by using Get-AzureRmPublicIPAddress and navigating to the IP of the virtual machine.
