How To Create An Amazon Web Services (AWS) EC2 Instance
The ability to create a VM in AWS is a core skill required for becoming a skilled sysadmin on the AWS platform. In this snip Nick will show you how to provision an instance using the EC2 service, you will be guided through sizing your instance, selecting an image (we’ll look at Windows server images specifically), configure networking, storage and setting up a security group. We’ll also look at tagging the instance which can help with billing arrangements i.e dept, cost centre and connecting to the VM via EIP. EIP is a static public IP, by default you are supplied with a dynamic public IP, which makes it harder to mange.
Prerequisites include: Amazon Web Services Account (Can all be done in the free Tier)
