How To Create And Configure A Network Security Group (NSG) In The Azure Portal
Network Security Groups (NSG) are a key part of controlling network access between resources in Azure. They act as mini firewalls that define rules of what traffic can get from one resource to another and even to/from the internet. Although they are simple compared to a full firewall they are very powerful and quick ways of controlling Azure networking. In this topic we look at how to create a network security group and set some rules to allow and deny traffic on specific ports and protocols. From there we look at associating our new NSG with subnets and specific NIC’s.
