How To Get Started Using OpenSSL With PowerShell
With the power of OpenSSL, you can create private keys, sign certificate, generate a certificate signing request and much more.
OpenSSL was designed to run in a Linux terminal but with a few tricks and environment variables you can have it up and running in a PowerShell terminal in no time.
In this Snip we will install OpenSSL using Chocolatey, set up some OpenSSL specific environment variables using the Powershell profile script, and download a sample OpenSSL configuration file.
Once complete we will be able to smoothly run OpenSSL command in the PowerShell interactive command line or a Powershell integrated environment such as PowerShell ISE.
