Understanding file permissions and how to change them on Linux systems is a fundamental skill that all IT administrators will need to use at some point in their career. In this video, Ken will show you how to set and change permissions on files and folders in Linux using “chmod”. Ken will give you all the tips and tricks on how to select the correct octal mode for the chmod command based on the permissions string (such as 640 for “rw-r—–”).
