How To Monitor Web Service Uptime Using PowerShell
A web service is meant to be available to users 24⁄7. Users come to expect a web service to be available whenever/wherever so it’s critical we proactively monitor any web service to ensure it stays available!
There are lots of commercial tools out there that do a great job of monitoring web services but what if you just need something quick and simple? This is where a PowerShell script comes in. By using PowerShell’s Test-NetConnection command and some conditional logic code, we’re able to create a simple web service monitor to monitor and record uptime to a web service.
